This is going to fit your trailer's 3,500 pound capacity idler axle with the number 84 spindles. The wheel studs here are half inch diameter by one and a quarter inch long. And you can see we do have the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. So this will work for your 13-inch to 15-inch wheels. more

You can see it is compatible with hydraulic drum brakes where the shoes will brake here and also electric brakes where the magnet of the electric brake will attach to right here, so it'll work on either one. Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we'll be showing you how to install the etrailer, pre-greased, hub and drum assembly here on our 2020 KZ Sportsmen Classic travel trailer. Our drum assembly has a nice zinc enriched coating all through it's paint so that it can help resist rust, as well as a zinc coated lug nut. This can resist rust and corrosion while attached to your wheel. All the bearings, races, your grease seal, your grease cap are all gonna come included in this kit and they're already gonna be pre-greased so that you don't have to sit there and pack the bearings, which can be quite a messy and tiresome process to get all of your hub and drum assembly installed. As far as installation difficulty goes, it is super simple. We honestly threw this on within five minutes, so it really shouldn't take you that long. more

Hi there, trailer owners. Today, we're gonna be showing you how to replace or add drum brake assemblies to your trailer. Drum brake assemblies are one of the things that you hope you never have to replace, but if you have bearing failure or really bad brake failure, where your shoes, the material's just completely gone, the drum could be completely damaged to the point where you can't reuse it, and you just need to replace it. Or like my example here, this is my personal trailer. I didn't have brakes at all on this trailer, and I wanted to add brakes to it to gimme more safe hauling when I'm putting this trailer towards its maximum load. And this is a really easy and quick way for me to get drum brakes installed. more

Hi there trailer owners. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace your hub assembly with a pre-packed full hub kit from CE Smith. When you're ready to install your assembly you'll wanna lift your trailer up and support it on jack stands just so the wheels are off the ground. Now, before we get into getting our hub installed here I wanted to just kind of talk about the packaging and what you get here, because this is kind of a neat little package with what all's inside of here. This actually is gonna make your life a lot easier if you're really not that familiar with how to pack bearings and stuff, cause this is a prepacked assembly in here. But what also is really cool about this being a prepacked assembly it's in this hard case and it has a little tab to prevent it from opening up. more

Today, we're gonna take a look at the Nev-R-Lube Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly with the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern, and it's for the 8,000 pound Dexter 50 millimeter Nev-R-Lube Axles with the 5/8 inch diameter wheel studs. Now, this trailer hub and drum assembly provides the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when your brakes are activated, and this hub and drum assembly is compatible with both electric and hydraulic drum brakes. So you can see right here, this is where your magnet would work if you have an electric brake, and if you have the regular hydraulic drum brakes with the brake shoes, this is where your shoes would be applied. Now, this assembly is designed to fit the 50 millimeter Nev-R-Lube Axles, and the Nev-R-Lube Axles are from Dexter, and it's a sealed cartridge bearing system. This part here will include the Nev-R-Lube 50 millimeter bearing cartridge already pre-installed in the hub. more

You can get these in either the galvanized like we're showing off here or with just a black powder coat finish. The galvanized ones here are for the higher rust areas that you might be in or for applications that see a lot more moisture such as your boat trailers, Jet Ski trailers, and things like that, that are gonna just be exposed to the elements a lot more. I live in an area where it's muddy frequently, and where my trailer sits, I try to keep it up out of the mud. I've got some rocks there, but it's just kind of a mess sometimes. more

Now, this trailer hub and drum assembly here provides the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when the brake is activated, and it is compatible with both 12 inch electric and hydraulic drum brakes. This is a nice sturdy iron construction. The drum dimensions, which are measured inside to inside, is 12 inches diameter, width of it is two inches wide, and as we mention the application for this, it fits on a 7,000 pound E-Z Lube axle with the number 42 spindles. Now, the E-Z Lube axles, they have the grease zerk fitting that's on the end of the spindle, and it allows you to grease your bearings without having to remove this hub and drum. more

Today, we're gonna take a look at this Nev-R-Lube Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern, and it's for the 6,000 pound Dexter 42 millimeter Nev-R-Lube axles. Now, this trailer hub and drum assembly will provide the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when your brakes are activated. This hub and drum is compatible with both electric and hydraulic drum brakes, and as we mentioned, this assembly is designed to fit the 42 millimeter Nev-R-Lube axles, and the Nev-R-Lube axles are from Dexter, and it uses a sealed cartridge bearing system. Now, the Nev-R-Lube bearings will consist of imposed tapered roller bearing cones that are sealed inside of a one piece double cup arrangement, and these bearings are designed with a small amount of endplay in them, and this endplay is essential to the longevity of the bearing service life. The advantages of the Nev-R-Lube system, there's no need to pull your hubs to repack the bearings or replace the seals when you're checking the brakes. more

Dexter 3500-lb Axle Trailer Hub Installation- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at and installing Dexter's Replacement Hubs for 3,500-lb axles with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. These ones are galvanized, so they're designed more for your marine and snowmobile applications. We're going to be putting them on a boat trailer here. That's a perfect application for it, since you often have to back that boat down into the dock and it's going to get wet.What's cool about this hub is it does come with races included, and the races that come included with it are pre-installed, which is nice because they're a press fit. So, it's nice they got that out of the way. That's a part where you definitely could cause a mistake when driving the race in and score up the surface, and you don't want to do any of that. more

Now this trailer and hub and drum assembly will provide the surface area for your brake shoes or your brake magnet to grip when the brakes are activated. It is compatible with both electric, you can see right here where your magnet would attach to, and hydraulic drum brakes where the shoe would grip to.Now, this is a pre greased hub and drum assembly. Hi there, trailer owners. Today we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to replace etrailer's line of idler hubs.This is what a typical idler hub looks like when it's installed. One of the things you'll notice about the idler hub is that there's no braking components on it. That's why it's called an idler. This is just a place for you to install your wheel onto, so that way when you're hauling your trailer it can rotate on the spindle here and give you additional load-carrying capacity on your trailer because you've got another axle there supporting the weight. Oftentimes with your axle head idler hubs, if there's more than one axle, there will be brakes on our other axle. more

Today, we're going to take a look at this Dexter 10 inch hub and rotor assembly with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern with a 3,700 pound weight capacity. Now this hub and rotor assembly will work with the 3,500 pound and 3,700 pound Dexter disc brakes. Does use a machine process which will minimize run out and warping. And since it's an all hub and rotor is all one piece, there's no chance for any contaminants that can get in between the rotor and the hub. more

Today we're going to take a look at this Pre- Greased Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500 pound Lube Axles and this has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.Now this trailer hub assembly will fit an easy lube idler axle and an idler axles and axle that does not have any breaks and the easy lube design is an axle that has the grease Zerk fitting that's on the end of the spindle and allows you to pump the grease into the bearings without having to disassemble or remove the hub.Now this one happens to be a pre-greased idler hub. It's very easy to install. There's no need to pack the bearings or install the grease seal. It comes already installed and greased, ready to go.They do use a lithium complex multi-purpose grease to keep the bearings lubricated. more

Connor: Hey guys, how's it going Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Dexter idler hubs for our 5,200 pound axles in particular. Now, if you're wondering what type of idler hubs you need, the easiest way to do this is it's going to be to crawl under the trailer and look on the center line of the actual beam, on here is going to have a sticker with the manufacturer serial number and usually the weight capacity as well. The weight capacity is usually going to be the best guide to help us selecting our idler hub. However, we can always contact the manufacturer with the serial number to get specific such as bearing information in grease seals. So if you're wondering why you would be installing idler hubs on such a large 5,200 pound axle, it's because chances are you're either looking to swap from hydraulic drum brakes or electric drum brakes to hydraulic disc brakes, which you can see we have the disc brake mounting flange here.Keep in mind the rest of the components for a disc breaking assembly are going to be sold separately here through etrailer. more

Includes the hub assembly itself, both the inner and outer bearings, the bearing races, which are pre-installed in the hub, the grease seal, the grease cap, which is an EZ lube grease cap, and the zinc coated lug nuts. more

Right away you're going to be able to tell it's really well built and heavy duty. One of the things that kind of separates this one from some of the other ones is the size of the studs. Now these are actually 5/8 in diameter so they're a little bit thicker, and like in our customer's case, he uses his trailer to the maximum capacity. more

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com, and today, we're going to be taking a look at the Dexter Axle. This is going to be an idler hub for your axle face, so it replaces any kind of worn out component that you might already have, it gives you a new axle face to attach your wheel to the axle.So it's going to be an e-coating there to resist any kind of rust and corrosion. As far as the application this will work for, it works for trailers with a 2100 pound axle capacity or 2,100 pounds. The bolt pattern is going to be five on four and a half, so if we go from one of those bolts to the exact opposite side, that's going to measure four and a half inches. That gives us five on four and a half and then this is going to have a half inch bolt design with a weight capacity of a thousand pounds.All the bearings, races and seals, those are going to be sold separately. more

Today, we're going to take a look at the 12-inch pre-greased trailer hub and drum assembly with the six on five-and-a-half inch bolt pattern for the 5,200-pound and 6,000 pound EZ Lube axles. Now this trailer hub and drum assembly provides the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when your brakes are activated. This is compatible with the electric and the hydraulic drum brakes.It includes the EZ Lube compatible grease cap right here, makes lubricating your bearings fast and easy. So when you install it, it has the rubber center cap that you can pop out or the plug, and that allows you with the cap still installed and the hubs also installed, you can access that grease zerk fitting that's on the end of the EZ Lube spindle.Now this is a sturdy iron construction, uses a zinc-enriched paint on the drum to add durability, has a zinc finish on the bolts to resist corrosion. And the nice thing about these hubs and drums, they are pre-greased. The pre-greased hub and drum assembly is very easy to install. more
